Facilities

Individual studio spaces, help and advice from resident professional artists; painting in all media; ceramics, sculpture, mosaic, batik, glass fusion, video, stained glass, metal work. All materials are provided free. There are two small kilns, a printing press, mitre cutter, pottery wheels and separate forge room. A creative writing group meets once a month, led by a volunteer. Volunteers also accompany individuals to exhibitions, lunchtime lectures, events.

Courses are run on demand - life drawing, paper making, glass work, etc.
The studio organises visits to galleries, museums, exhibitions, sketching days out, and longer cultural excursions for instance to London, Edinburgh and the Lakes.

Opening Times

Mondays - Fridays 9.30 a.m - 4.30 p.m Closed one week at Christmas and on statutory bank holidays.

Referral

Very informal, via GP, social worker, CPN, psychologist. Self referral is common and often works best. While the service is entirely free to North Tyneside Residents there is a charge for residents of other boroughs - this can usually be arranged by social services.
