Welcome to the Art Studio based at the Linskill Centre, in North Shields.

North Tyneside Art Studio is a charitable arts organization which works with people with mental health/ addiction problems. Its ethos is that by encouraging the creativity , self expression personal development and artistic enterprise of its users they will be able to attain a fuller life experience and play an active part in the cultural enrichment of their community.

People determine their own use of the Studio, and time spent here is according to individual motivation and involvement.

Resident professional artists offer help and advice on an individual and informal basis since each person is at a unique stage of development. Occasionally, visiting tutors are brought in to teach specialist courses.

The Studio aims to assist the self determination and artistic fulfillment of its members. It creates opportunities for exhibitions,commissions, workshops and residencies, and supports people who wish to undertake these.

It can be a route into higher education, and can offer continuing support through this.Use of the studio has also helped people to gain employment.
